Top Horror Movies

I had a chat with one of my friends from Texas about horror movies. He made a list, so I did too! It's on my LetterBoxD if anyone is interested! As someone who writes horror and bases their art on a lot of horror movie icons, it's only natural that I share with you the movies that got me into the genre.
As you know me, I love all things horror. So here is my list and why they made my list of all-time favourite horrors. They are not in any order and it was a tough one to make.
Note: I would like to say that this is my more tame list. I've watched a lot of depraved horror movies, but they have no business being on this list as they don't have a special place in my heart. But!! Saying that. I would love to make a list for the extreme horror films that maybe will make you question my sanity LOL.

Alien: Romulus
Growing up, I loved the Alien franchise. But then it lost me. Romulus brought me back and made me remember how much I loved it. It actually kept me on edge and was so well done that I had to add it to this list.
Saw
The movie that started it all. I have watched all of them multiple times. SAW III is actually my favourite of the bunch, but it was this one that got me into the whole franchise and I still love to this day!
After all, there's a Billy the Puppet cat sticker that you can make yours today! (Available as a pin as well!)
Terrifier
Okay, the third Terrifier is my favourite. But it was the first one that has a special place in my heart, as it got me obsessed with Art the Clown. It was campy, corny and not the best of the franchise, but I enjoyed it so much. Art is like Mr. Bean if he had a psychotic break LOL.
Grab your Art Kitty Sticker if you love him as much as I do! (Also available as a pin and charm)
A Nightmare on Elm Street
Freddy Krueger has been my favourite slasher since I was a kid. Yes, I was 3 when I fell in love with him. I thought he was creepy and so cool! I still remember sneaking out of bed and quietly watching it behind my parents' couch.
Here's my cute little Freddy Kitty Sticker! (Also available as a pin and charm)
Evil Dead Rise
The original Evil Dead was fun. But for some reason, it didn't captivate me as much as for others. It wasn't until Evil Dead Rise that made me fall in love with the franchise. It was bloody. It was fun. And it was damn well done!
Scream (2022)
I did love the original Scream. But for some reason, it wasn't until the 2022 version that made me realize how much I enjoyed the franchise. It's weird, the first two was really good and I loved it as a kid. But Ghostface wasn't on my radar until much later in life. It was always Chucky and Freddy. So, this movie makes my top 10 because it gave me a newfound love for Scream.
You can bring home my little Ghostface Kitty Sticker with you today! (Available in pins and charms too)
Child's Play
Child's Play was another franchise that got me into horror at a super young age as well. I thought Chucky was absolutely adorable! He scared my mom, but he sure didn't scare me!
My cute Chucky Kitty Sticker can come home with you today! (Two different versions available, pins and charms!)
The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (2003)
I feel like this version of Texas Chainsaw doesn't get talked about enough. I thought it was gritty and quite well done. I enjoyed it and really liked Jessica Biel. There have been many of these films, but it's this one that stuck with me for some reason.
My little Leatherface Kitty Sticker is one of my favourite designs and you can adopt him! (Also available in pin form)
Nosferatu
Do you know how happy I am that gothic horror is back?! For so long, I've craved a good gothic horror, and it was Nosferatu that brought back the genre. Followed by Frankenstein the year after. I love everything about it, and it makes my little gothic heart sing.
I Saw the Devil
A Korean-made film with Lee Byung-Hun and god damn! This one hits hard. I loved how gory and violent this movie was. I loved this so much that it's also on my top 10 films of all time. It was well done, it was gritty, it didn't hold back, and can be hard to watch for the horror movie tourist.
Too bad I can't make a kitty off any of these characters hahaha.
Well, there you have it! My top horror movies!! Check out my BLOG for other neat posts!
