Top Extreme Horror/Splatterpunk Books

As a horror writer and artist, it's only natural that I wander down the extreme horror and splatterpunk genre.

In fact, I one day, would love to win the Splatterpunk Award alongside Kristopher Triana and Wrath James White.

Big dreams, eh? A girl can dream haha. I'm in the process of writing my first-ever extreme horror book, and I'm so excited about it!

It's about a booktok gal who loves the men in her books so much, makes a wish and gets transported back to the medieval ages. Yes, she finds her man. But she is also in for a world of hurt. So..much..hurt..

Anyway, I've been going deep into this genre, and still have a massive list to go through. But so far, here are some of my favourite books that I've read so far! I'll make more of these lists as I go through more books!

The Slob - Aron Beauregard

This one actually made me cringe and set me on the path that I could take my own writing to the next level. The book was absolutely vile and disgusting and I loved it!

Where to read: Amazon

Toxic Love - Kristopher Triana

My very first Triana book, and it didn't let me know. I cannot wait to read more from this author. He manages to write so disgustingly but somehow, you end up really rooting for the characters. I need more!

Where to read: Amazon (I picked up the paperback for this one)

Emily - Wrath James White

Seriously one of the craziest books I've ever read and I ate up every moment. I love how crazy Emily is. James really has a way with words and making you feel extremely uncomfortable. Maybe even make you clench your buttcheeks here and there. He is definitely one of my favourite authors.

Where to read: Amazon

No One Rides For Free: Absolute Chaos - Judith Sonnet

This book was absolute chaos. If you thought No One Rides For Free was vile, this one blew that out of the water. I ended up reading them out of order, so for me, the first one was a lot more tame. This book is straight-up extreme horror and will offend the average human.

If you want to get offended and see all the worst things that can be done to a human, you should check this book the fuck out!

Where to read: Amazon

The Bug Collector - Wrath James White

As a germaphobe, this one gave me the ick. In all the right ways. This was the first book I read from Wrath James White and instantly went to pick up more books by him. Very troubled and well-developed characters with lots of fucked up things happening. If you can stomach it, check the triggers and go read it now!

Where to read: Amazon

Roll For Initiative - Lesley A. Camphouse

As someone who loves and plays D&D and also a massive extreme horror fan, this was right up my alley. This one draws on feminine rage, and I was all for it.

Where to read: Kindle Umlimited

Fluid Freaks - J. Boote

This book will make your stomach churn. The title says it all. Think of every nasty bodily fluid and think of what one can do with it. It also has a nice little twist at the end that I honestly didn't see coming. It's a nice short read, well I guess not nice, but you know what I mean.

Where to read: Kindle Umlimited

The Girl Next Door - Jack Ketchum

Based on a true story, this book made it even harder to read. It wasn't gory or anything; it was just uncomfortable. It made my blood boil. This was one of those where I couldn't finish in a few sittings. It was written so well that you felt what these kids were going through.
